Mission Statement:
Youth Is Life-Athens: seeks to prevent systemic generational curses, gang
violence, mass incarceration, poverty, and negative mindsets.“It has an expiration date starting with you.”
“ A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.” –
Proverbs 18:16
Youth Is Life-Athens helps assess and develop the steps to break generational stigmas and poverty for future generations. We have created a six-week strategic program plan. We bring awareness, by educating our families. We implement crime prevention, job training, entrepreneurial workshops, identity workshops. We have a program in place to establish a betterment for the community advocating for achievable goals for parents and children of all ages. Bringing unity back into the community.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
-Proverbs 22:6
We want to address the unmet need in our community. We have found that our youth needs us more than ever. The youth is trapped with no place to turn. How can you arrest kids for being in the streets? There are no community centers available. Our community charges the youth for everything. We are in need of recreational centers, trade schools, performing Arts programs, internship programs, identity workshops, a safe haven from negative environments, mentorship programs, know your rights program, and justice program.
Our mission is to develop the connection between parents and their youth/children.
Bridging the generational gap through adventures, activities, community events, and
workshops. Youth Is Life will be looking to expand our services to other communities.
